Special Olympics Ohio: February’s Let’s Give Featured Partner

This month we are honored to partner with Special Olympics Ohio to support their Polar Plunge® initiative and their mission of creating “a sense of connectedness in an inclusive culture through our shared experience and love of sports.” They provide”a space for individuals, families, and community partners to come together as we focus on the courage, strength, and skill of athletes. Because the need for belonging is always urgent, their signature sports and community-based fundraising events take place throughout the year so that everyone has the opportunity to contribute and be valued members of their communities.”

SOOH supports nearly 20,000 children and adults with intellectual disabilities, giving them the opportunity to compete in 19 different sports, that provide physical development, and new experiences, with a sense of community and camaraderie. SOOH provides a lifetime of opportunities to athletes of all ages, at no cost to them, through the transformative power of sport.

Through their three core programs: Sports, Unified Champion Schools, Healthy Athletes, and Athlete Leadership the SOOH experiences goes beyond sporting events, driving social change that enables whole community participation for people with intellectual disabilities.

Join SOOH for the #ChillOfALifetime at Lower.com Field Saturday, February 10th at their annual Polar Plunge® event. Their largest community fundraising event benefiting athletes. In order to participate, individuals or teams collect pledges from friends, family, and others in their communities to take an icy plunge in the name of inclusion! Proceeds raised rom this chilling event help provide year-round sports, health education, and athlete leadership programs for Special Olympics Ohio athletes-all at no cost to them.
