Blue Wood Aster

This aster is unique due to its heart-shaped leaves, which give us heart eyes for this plant. If you have checked out the other QR codes in the beer garden, you should have learned that the Asteraceae flower family that the aster belongs to is fantastic. The heart-shaped, colorful leaves help us remain patient as we wait all spring and summer for this plant to bloom. As with most aster flowers, they bloom in early autumn and provide a very valuable resource for the bees as we move into cold winter days. 

Plant the blue wood aster in full sun or partial shade in the spring or fall.
